Phillip T. (Terry) Ragon
CEO and Founder

Terry Ragon has served the needs of professional application developers for more than twenty-five years. Since founding InterSystems Corporation in 1978, he has led the company to worldwide prominence in the database and integration markets.

Prior to starting InterSystems, Mr. Ragon co-founded the software company known today as IDX Systems, a leading provider of healthcare applications. He has served as a consultant to numerous academic and governmental institutions, and received a prestigious Entrepreneur of the Year award in healthcare information technology.

Mr. Ragon has a degree in physics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.


John McCormick
Chief Operating Officer

With more than 25 years of experience in the computer industry, John McCormick joined InterSystems in 1992 as COO, a position well-suited to leverage his extensive software knowledge and industry experience.

Before joining InterSystems, McCormick was president of Information Systems Inc., a supplier of software solutions for the manufacturing sector. His background also includes work as a marketing representative and as director of the 100% Club for IBM.

McCormick is a graduate of Yale University and earned a Master's degree in Industrial Management from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.


Paul Grabscheid
VP of Strategic Planning

Since 1986, Paul Grabscheid has used his expertise in database and application development tools and technologies in a variety of product planning and marketing roles at InterSystems. Prior to that, he served as director of marketing for Mathematica, a database and 4GL software company, helping to expand the company's worldwide presence. When the company was acquired by Martin Marietta he served as director of marketing for that firm's Information Technology Division, overseeing marketing efforts for a number of system software, application software, and computer services product lines.

Grabscheid's background also includes consulting work involving the development of decision support systems for state governments. He holds a Master's degree from the Sloan School of Management at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.


Susan M. Ragon
VP of Finance, Administration, and Recruitment

Susan Ragon joined InterSystems in 1985 after holding executive marketing positions in the consumer electronics industry. Ragon has been instrumental in building the core infrastructure of the organization and has held several executive-level positions including director of finance, administration, marketing, and documentation. In her current role, Ragon oversees finance, recruitment, office services, and special projects throughout InterSystems' worldwide network of offices.


Joe DeSantis
VP of Software Development

Joe DeSantis directs object technology development at InterSystems. He previously worked with Liant Software Corporation as vice president of research & development, where he was responsible for product vision, architecture, and development of object-oriented development tools.

DeSantis co-founded Oakland Group, Inc., where he served as vice president of research & development and oversaw the architecture, design and development of the C-scape Interface Management System. DeSantis got his start at Zoom Telephonics, Inc. as a senior engineer responsible for designing consumer telecommunications devices.

He studied electrical engineering at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.


Robert Nagle
VP of Software Development

Robert Nagle directs systems software activities at InterSystems. Prior to joining the company, he spent five years doing research at Harvard University in molecular modeling and high performance computing.

Previously, he was general manager and vice president of Molecular Simulations Inc. with P&L responsibility for the life sciences market and technical responsibility for research and development. Before that he held technical or senior management positions at Automatix, Cognition, and Computervision.

He has a Master's degree in Mathematics from Carnegie-Mellon University and a Master's in Mathematical Physics from University College, Cork.


John Paladino
VP of Client Services

John Paladino directs the activities of the InterSystems support, quality assurance, internal computer operations, and customer education groups. Since joining InterSystems in 1984, he has been instrumental in developing an automated support tracking system, customer training programs for all InterSystems software products, creation and implementation of service standards designed to improve responsiveness and increase customer satisfaction, and multiple domestic and international team-building initiatives.

He came to InterSystems after a three-year stint as a systems engineer with New England Pathology, where he was responsible for acquiring, implementing, and managing a variety of information technologies. Paladino's background includes multi-disciplinary course work at Worcester Polytechnic Institute and the University of Lowell.


Richard Deutsch
VP of Marketing

Richard Deutsch directs the marketing operations of InterSystems, with worldwide responsibility for the quality and effectiveness of the company's marketing programs.

Deutsch came to InterSystems in 1995 from IBM, where he held several marketing and communications management positions over the course of his twelve-year career. Prior to IBM, Deutsch was president and creative director of a design and advertising agency, and vice president of marketing for a consumer electronics retailer.

He is a graduate of Harvard University.
